If you’re dreaming of a classic Austrian ski holiday with a mix of big terrain, lively après, and plenty to do off the slopes, Saalbach-Hinterglemm should be high on your list. Known as part of the Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, this resort is one of Austria’s largest, with 270 km of pistes, modern lifts, and a buzzing alpine vibe.

For Winter 2025/26, there’s even more excitement: Saalbach is hosting the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships (Feb 4–16, 2025) – so expect a festive, international energy in the valley.

Skiing & Snowboarding in Saalbach

The Skicircus is a skier’s playground. You’ll find:

  • 270 km of slopes ranging from gentle beginner runs to challenging blacks.
  • 70+ lifts that make it easy to explore without long waits.
  • Wide, rolling pistes ideal for intermediates, plus snow parks and freeride terrain in Fieberbrunn.
  • Reliable snowmaking and a season that usually runs from late November to early April.

The ski area is well-linked, so you can ski for hours without repeating the same run. And if you’re here during the World Championships, you’ll catch a unique buzz – racecourses, fan zones, and ski racing at the highest level.

Looking for more adrenaline? Try snow tubing, a spin around the Glemmy Offroad Park (ATVs and quads in the snow!), snowmobiling, or even paragliding above the peaks.

❄️ Baumzipfelweg & Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps

A treetop trail and suspension bridge tucked away in Hinterglemm – open year-round and extra magical in winter.
